Low-Temperature Synthesis Approach for Calcium Hydroxyapatite Coatings on Titanium Substrate

In this study, a low-temperature synthetic approach was developed for the fabrication of calcium hydroxyapatite (CHAp) coatings on titanium substrate. The substrates were first coated with CaCO3 by spin-coating technique using sol–gel chemistry approach, and obtained product transformed into CHAp during dissolution–precipitation reaction. phase purity structural morphological features evaluated X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, Raman scanning electron microscopy (SEM) 3D optical profilometer. It demonstrated that almost-single-phase formed substrate negligible number side phases, such as Na2HPO4 (starting material) TiO2. spectrum coating, peaks phosphate group vibrations clearly seen. Thus, results spectroscopy correlated well analysis. corrosive behaviour also electrochemical methods. found corrosion resistance increased significantly. These thin films may be potential candidates use in not only regenerative medicine but development different sensors.
